Zyn

ZEC has private money. Zyn gives it applications.

Zyn is an application execution layer built for Zcash. It runs deterministic application state machines, batches their activity, and anchors state commitments to Zcash.

What runs on it

Cave is the first consumer app built on Zyn: Collection Z, the Cave store and the Jade launchpad. Nap is the wallet all of them talk to.

What you are trusting

One operator orders transactions. Zyn is operator-sequenced, with no fraud proofs and no validity proofs.

Withdrawals depend on our custodians. Bridged ZEC is backed by ZEC in a 2-of-3 threshold vault run by the Zyn team.

Zcash keeps time; it does not check our work. Zcash records deposits, withdrawals and anchor commitments. It does not validate Zyn state transitions, and Zyn does not inherit Zcash's security.

Private from the public, visible to the operator. Who holds and trades what is not published. The operator and authorised verifiers can see it today. We are working toward a version where they cannot.

What you can check without us

Backing
The ledger publishes how much of each asset it has issued. The bridge checks that the vault still holds that much on every pass, and anyone can compare the same number with the vault's balance on Zcash.
Replay
ZynScan rebuilds every sealed epoch from the published journal and reports whether its root matches the node's. The table above shows the result.
Anchors
Sealed roots are written to Zcash in ordinary transactions. Once a root is anchored, changing it would contradict a Zcash block.
Exit addresses
A withdrawal records only a hash of where the money goes. The address itself is shown to the bridge that pays it and to nobody else.
